Canyon Extravaganza

Sunday, February 8

Early February is a great time for a canyon ride combined with a chapter meeting.  Thanks to our friend, John Eagles, for hosting this ride beginning at his home in Orange.   About a dozen folks gathered at John’s place on Sunday morning, embarking on a ride through the twisty, narrow canyons of the Saddleback Mountains.  We ventured southward through Santiago Canyon, turning inland at Cook’s Corner to O’Neill Park and Trabuco Canyon.  After a brief repose, we meandered back out to Santiago Canyon, detouring through the Modjeska grade and then into Silverado Canyon.  After turning around at the ranger’s station, we worked our way back to the Silver Creek Grille for a tasty lunch and a brief meeting.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the lunch offered at Silverado by our host, Greg W.  We will likely return in the future for a repeat experience.  After lunch, the group returned to John Eagles abode and concluded a very enjoyable day.  Thanks, John, for hosting the ride and providing an enjoyable venue for our Winter meeting/ride.
