Minutes for January 8, 2006

SoCal Chapter Meeting

Original Mike’s – Santa Ana

By Dave Cook, Chapter Secretary

The meeting was opened at 10:30 AM by President Tim Graber.  He announced that the So Cal Chapter of AMCA is now incorporated.  This will protect us individually from future legal action, should someone want to sue us for injury suffered in riding in a chapter event.

It is dues time once again, so send your money to Treasurer Tom Hart.  He is happy to accept your checks for $15 annually.  We do not make money on dues, in fact we break even.  Our two Road Runs in Borrego and Death Valley produce a slight surplus that helps with year-round expenses.  These are now National Runs, every other year (Borrego in Even years, Death Valley in Odd years).  These are fun rides and, if possible, you should plan to make them.  It is a given that we all like motorcycles, but there is also a lot of fun and enjoyment included!

V.P. Jim Falk proposed a ride in early February.  Bob Stark will organize this ride for February 12 (Sunday); it will begin and end at the Indian shop in Corona, going to Chino Airport for breakfast at Flo’s and a museum tour.  Check the website and this issue for details.  Other rides are coming up for 29 Palms, San Diego and Arizona.

Frank Colver needs cones for guiding riders to the lunch stop at Cane Brake during Borrego.  Contact him if you can help with this.  Myself (Dave Cook) has been put in charge of name badges.  If you do not have one, call me and I will handle it.

Attendees:  Mason Byers, Harry Sucher, Vahan Bandoian, Max Bubeck, Chuck Vernon, Erhard & Judy Hirschfelder, Frank Colver, T.J. Graber, Tim Graber, Dave Cook, Tom Hart, Jill Hart, Craig Dillman, Dave Williams, Jim Falk, Hobo John.  Guests:  Becky Hart & Dick DeYoung.  Meeting adjourned at 11:30 AM
