San Diego High Country Ramble

This is a new offering
suggested and led by Clay Burton. The
reason for the April date is to allow a gap before the proposed Arizona Run in
May. Take Hwy #5, #15 or #805 south to
Hwy 94, then go east toward Spring Valley. Proceed to Jamacha Junction, intersection of Jamacha Road and Hwy
94. The Ranch San Diego
Center will be the start
and end point, day parking available in a large lot. Start time will be 10 AM.
The route will take us east through
Barrett Junction and Potrero to Campo, then back through Buckman Springs and up
the Sunrise Highway to Mount Laguna (6000 ft.) and on into Julian, where we
will have lunch at a spacious restaurant.
We will then go south on Hwy 79 through Japatul Valley,
returning to the start point through some scenic back roads. Gas is available in Campo and Julian. Return time should be by 3 PM.
