Although this run is sponsored annually by the various British bike clubs, you will see all variety of bikes in participation.  The run features a scenic but twisty ride through the Tujunga Canyon area just north of the Hansen Dam in the outer San Fernando Valley.  The traditional lunch stop(s) is/are in the high desert town of Acton.  This year, there were a few serious mishaps en route by certain individuals either not negotiating a sharp turn properly or following too close.  One mishap involved our own Vic Cohen and his passenger.  They were accompanied by a friend who got a little too close, hooking onto Vic in a turn and falling off the bike himself.  Vic dragged both his bike and the “attached” Triumph about 50 yards without falling!!!   The Triumph left a distinct tire mark on the leg of Vic’s passenger’s jeans!  The law enforcement and emergency details arrived in force following a 911 call, but all parties were OK with only minor injuries and shock to the fallen rider.

We convened at our usual lunch stop, a Mexican restaurant in Acton, where this entire story was relayed in conversation.  Many of our chapter members were in attendance, and we enjoyed a brief rest over lunch.  From there, we proceeded up into the Angeles Crest area for a scenic ride at 5000 ft. elevations before descending through Big Tujunga Canyon to the town of Sunland.  The ride concluded where we started at the Hansen Dam recreation area, where awards were given for British bikes on display.  Everyone concluded a fine day following the ride of 90 miles Plus.  This is always an enjoyable and scenic run in the height of the Fall season.
