International Motorcycle Show

December 6-8, 2002

By Marc Gallin

The SoCal Chapter was again proud to take part in the 2002 International Motorcycle Show presented by Cycle World Magazine at the Long Beach Convention Center.  Club Vice-President Marc Gallin coordinated the effort, which put together a full dozen magnificent machines.  In honor of Harley-Davidson’s 100th Anniversary, the Club presented Harleys from each decade from the teens all the way up to the 1960s.

The Club’s display was very well received by the hoards of motorcycle enthusiasts who made their way around the Convention Center during the three day show.  This year, we were accompanied by the North America Ariel Motorcycle Club who also brought down a full dozen beautiful Ariels.  In addition, all the major motorcycle manufacturers were on hand showing their latest and greatest machines.  Familiar names like Harley-Davidson, Indian, Triumph and BMW, just to name a few. All the Japanese and European manufacturers were also in attendance with their wonderful futuristic machines.

My thanks again, to all those Club members who generously donated their machines for the event and their time to help out in our booth.  And a very Special Thanks to Larry Ramos for assisting me in booth operations. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Hobo John, Tim Graber, Tom Lovejoy, Tom Hart, Mike and Bob Doom, Craig Dillmann, Gil Armas, Les Haserot, Vahan Bandoain, Homer Knapp, Jennifer Curran, Steve Sorenson, Kevin Spear and Dave Cook for helping watch our Chapter booth.
